CCS with MPLABX
PostPosted: Sun Feb 24, 2019 8:46 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I have an old mplab v8.92 project with CCS ver 4.099.
I want to convert this project to MPLABX ver 4.15 but i keep getting the message: "Internet connection is not stable enough to download latest toolchain".

I managed to add CCS toolchain to MPLABX tools>options>build tools. But, It does not appear in the toolchain box.

Can you help me please?

Thanks,
Gil

Have you installed the ccs compiler plugin for MPLABX?

Once you install it, mplab should automatically detect the compiler. Additionally, I noticed mplabx version 4 tended to have that internet connection warning. It never seemed to affect anything. Mplab version 5 doesn't seem to have the internet connection warning.

This was fixed in V4.20.

Why are you installing such an old version?.

On 4.10 to 4.19, just about everybody got this, no matter how good the
connection actually was...

Thanks

Well, the message: "Internet connection is not stable enough to download latest toolchain" is gone now. But, the CCS toolchain does not appear on the toolchain window.

Actually the CCS "about" page is displayed, i press its "OK" button, it appears again, i press the "OK" button again and then the MPLABX project toolchain window opens without the CCS toolchain.

I know I already asked above whether you installed the CCS compiler plugin for MPLABX above, but i think you have to have it installed or else it won't work.

and (of course), the correct one. The one for MPLAB-X, not the one for MPLAB.
