8520 configuration error with ICD-S
PostPosted: Thu Dec 04, 2003 8:05 am     Reply with quote

In Microchip datasheet the upper nible of 18x520 CONFIG5L, 6L, 7L should be maintaned high, but I read the chip with ICD2 and ICD-S and both shows 0x0F instead of 0xFF in 30008h, 3000Ah, 3000Ch. As result, ICD-S can't enter to debug mode due to programming error (MPLAB ICD2 is OK with this problem). Does someone know something about it?

ICD-S doesn't work
PostPosted: Mon Dec 29, 2003 5:10 am     Reply with quote

Hi All
I tried to solve this by device editing , but this cause another problem. Now compiler generates right code, but ICD-s doesn't work at all if devices.dat was changed. Now I use 2 devices.dat files - 1 corrected for compilation and 2nd original for debugger. Is there more clever idea? Why ICD-S doesn't love changed devices.dat ?
