License Issue - Single Chip Compiler for PIC18F2550
PostPosted: Fri Jul 29, 2016 1:17 am     Reply with quote

I run a training institute. I am using the CCS C compiler in order to train students and I have my own development boards. I provide them the Demo compiler which can be downloaded from CCS website. But it comes with a 45 day limited access. And after that, eventually they look for cracked versions or shift towards open source solutions like Arduino & Mikro C. All my hard work goes in vain. I am looking for a solution just like the demo compiler provided with the Microchip PICKit2 Debug Express kit, which is a command line Demo compiler for PIC16F887, the compiler has demo limit in terms of code size. The price of the whole kit (programmer + development board + compiler) is 49.99 USD. And no doubt this is a good deal.

Can CCS provide a Single Chip Compiler With CODE LIMIT for PIC18f2550 (a demo version). I want to provide this compiler with my development boards.

If I buy a single chip IDE compiler (PIC18F2550) can I provide it to the students along with some some development boards I have designed. I guess this won't be possible. Rolling Eyes A single license won't come with this feature. Can anyone please provide me a suggestion. I have been trying to get in contact with CCS about this issue. I really want to find a solution regarding this.

You need to talk to CCS.
