CCS IDE docking and unpleasant undocking
PostPosted: Fri Oct 17, 2014 7:39 am     Reply with quote

I find undocking to be very unpleasant in that every panel has to be minimized separately.
The IDE display can get undocked from a docked state by some inadvertent keystroke or mouse movement.
The unpleasantness of undocking persists even if the compiler is reinstalled suggesting the docking state has oozed to some file a reinstall leaves intact.
I was hoping to find a docked or undocked switch in the IDE settings tab
but no luck.
After trying almost everything I found dragging the undocked panels to the
bottom of the code screen gets them to redock.
Is there a switch to permanently turn undocking off?

If you hit the arrow down symbol to the right of the 'debug windows' button. The bottom option, resets all docking windows to their default state.

Thanks for the info..... I tried undocking the debug window but the solution you suggested didn't redock it. The undocking is extremely annoying and it really needs an option to permanently turn it off.
If you inadvertently drag the mouse or who knows what else this unpleasantness begins. Further if any undocked window goes off the top of the screen it is even more frustrating to get a hold of it.

This feature either needs a switch to disable it or it needs to be removed in its entirety.

I must admit to not using the CCS IDE, but had noticed that button was 'meant' to restore all docking to the default state.
