Passing strings in ram

What is the advantage of passing string literals in ram?

#device PASS_STRINGS=IN_RAM

It seems slower. But perhaps there is an offsetting advantage.

Means you can use pointers.

Remember the ROM and RAM address spaces are separate on the PIC.
