There is an option in ccs compiler (v4.140) that auto reloads project files edited in external editor.
I can't seem to find the settings.

Options
IDE
Dialogs
Open file was modified outside the IDE
If this is set, it gives you a warning, if not, it reloads automatically. |

In V4, it does it automatically. In V5, it is changeable.
I thought you were complaining that it had worked in V4, and now didn't in V5....
It has always done it automatically in the older versions. When you save a file with an external editor, _provided you have the option 'recall open files' selected in the editor_.

In V4 I had the same problem, suddenly not reloading a changed file. A reinstall did the trick, causing it to work again.
