Ping client
PostPosted: Fri Dec 26, 2008 1:02 pm     Reply with quote

I am trying to write a ping CLIENT application which will allow the PIC to ping a list of systems. I have tried, unsuccessfully, to modify the examples included with the TCP/IP files. They are mostly servers.

Does anyone have an example of ping client code that sends the ping and processes the response?

Any help with this would be much appreciated.

I am using PCWH 4.084 and CCS' TCP/IP stack.

Thanks.

I switched to the MicroChip TCP/IP stack for embedded TCP/IP and web servers. It requires the Microchip compilers so you will need to go to the Microchip forums for support.

Depending on what you need to do you might check out the various WizNet boards. That's usually all I need for client/server and serial to ethernet communication. I just plug these into my CCS projects and save a lot of time.
