outputting oscillator clock
PostPosted: Thu Dec 06, 2012 2:30 pm     Reply with quote

Hi!
Can I output the oscillator clock signal on certain pin of a controller? I have read the datasheet about oscillator modes and there is :
Quote:
INTOSC –Internal oscillator with FOSC/4 output on OSC2

Does it mean that I can see the clock signal (by oscilloscope) on OSC2/CLKOUT?

Basically yes.
Exact details depend on the chip, but normally this is the difference between 'INTRC', and 'INTRC_IO' fuses. The former outputs the clock, the latter lets the pin be used for normal I/O instead.

Best Wishes
