Renewed CCS PCWH - which version of mplab under W7/64 ?
PostPosted: Wed Aug 01, 2012 6:50 pm     Reply with quote

Just upgraded/renewed my PCWH compiler to install on my new windows 7/64 partition - anybody have any comments on which version of MPLAB works best with it ? (or is it simply the "latest version"? from Microchip (not X)). Under XP Pro, I had it working fine a year ago, but that was an older version of the compiler 4.114 and an older MPLAB on a 32 bit OS). Any words of wisdom appreciated Very Happy

I'm using 8.86 on win 7x64. no issues except that my Pickit 3 was not being recognized....

turned out to be two preinstalled DELL apps... accuweather and Dell stage.

OK, thanks. Installed 8.86 and it seems to be fine. Did run into an issue with the compiler not being able to write to an old project file, but I think that is a windows 7 thing and will research that (I am the same "user" on both partitions XP and W7, however the SSID is different as expected and for some reason, files that I have not had a problem doing things with the compiler says it can't write to them until I go in and change the file security to my name as well as all users (I have admin)). Thanks for the feedback Very Happy
