1st Q. Which PIC have you chosen for this project ?
2nd Q. What code have you cut so far ?
3rd Q. When is the project due?

It doesn't sound like this needs a microprocessor at all. Look at the web sites of a few power converter chip companies like National Semiconductor, Linear Technologies, Maxim, etc. and you should be able to find chip to do what you want

How much power?

It's already been suggested you look at a dedicated chip for the job.

Unless it's a school project and you HAVE to use a PIC.

By their very nature boost converters can be dangerous!
