What is the usage of the EXTENDED INSTRUCTION SET
PostPosted: Mon Feb 20, 2012 5:35 am     Reply with quote

Hello Everybody,

I'm using the PIC18F46J50.
I have the fuses option NOXINST. However my question is what is the usage of the EXTENDED INSTRUCTION SET if I switch it to XINST. I will have smaller code (tested and NOT), I will have faster code (tested and NOT). So what is the benefits of this EXTENDED INSTRUCTION SET in the CCS Compiler?
Any clarifications are very appreciated
My Best Regards

CCS, _does not support the extended instruction set_.
If you enable it, the code at some point, won't work.
Hence, 'NOXINST' is _required_.
