Save a quartz and share clock between 2 PICs |

Hi, I'm using 2 PICs on the same board, and I want to save a quartz; Does anyone know how to share the clock source? My idea is to connect the oscillator as usual to one of the PICs and configure it to oscillate correctly, and then connect the CLKO of this PIC to the CLKI of the other one, configuring it to use external clock. Will it work?
Thanks! |

Yes however you have to take into account the additional capacitive loading of the second PIC's CLKI input and adjust the crystal load capacitor accordingly. _________________ Regards, Andrew
