moved compiler to a different machine
PostPosted: Tue Dec 20, 2011 2:45 pm     Reply with quote

Hi There,

I moved the compiler to a different machine, I simply copied the whole PICC directory over and adjusted the paths in my .mcp project file. MPLAB was fine with that after telling my project where PICC is located on the new machine. However, when I compile my project I get this:
Code:
Executing: "C:\Program Files (x86)\PICC\Ccsc.exe" +FH "MCU2.c" +DF +LN +T +A +M +Z +Y=9 +EA  #__18F86K22=TRUE
*** Error 18 "C:\Users\reggler\Documents\REG1.5\MCU2~\MCU2.h" Line 1(9,21): File can not be opened
    Not in ";C:\Users\reggler\Documents\REG1.5\MCU2~\18F86K22.h"

Halting build on first failure as requested.

It says *** Error 18 "C:\Users\reggler\Documents\REG1.5\MCU2~\MCU2.h" Line 1(9,21): File can not be opened but i can click on MCU2.h in my project browser and the file opens up just fine. What's going on here? Anyone done this before?
Thank you!

Launch a new _project_ and select the files.
Problem is that the project file contains the locations of the files it wants to find. Unless the entire directory structure on the new machine is the same as on the old one, it'll be telling the compiler to look in the wrong place for the files, and they won't be found.

Best Wishes
