CCS Now supported in MPLAB X
PostPosted: Thu Apr 28, 2011 6:52 pm     Reply with quote

The new Beta 6 version of MPLAB X was released today - and as promised, it supports CCS's compiler! I have been playing with X for a few months, using C18, but now that it supports CCS, I don't see any reason to stay with 8.66.

I love the NetBeans platform - the interface is so much nicer.

Beta 6 also supports PicBasicPro and the SDCC compiler, and it even recognized the MinGW compiler on my machine, so we may be able to do PC programming from the same IDE... that would be cool.

Disclaimer: I am not affiliated w/ Microchip or NetBeans, etc., etc. - just love the new platform!

Apparently MPLAB X works the same way as the original MPLAB so it should pick up your installed compiler tools automatically - it did for me !

You should also note that it appears that you need a beta version of the CCS C compiler before it will work in MPLAB X - see my post on the MPLAB X forum.
