18F46K80.h missing
PostPosted: Thu Oct 20, 2011 10:40 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I'm working at my University computers with CCS C compiler for my project. I was using a Microchip 18F4685 with success, but as the project grew up I needed an additional UART, so I searched for a similar PIC at Microchip PIC browser, and I got a Microchip 18F46K80.

I have been designing the PCB, fixing the code, meanwhile the 18F46K80 arrived. Well it has arrived, and now I realised that I have no header for this model of PIC.

I found your posts commenting there was a bug with that header, and it was fixed in version 4.121. That version is far away from the one installed at my University computers, and I am not allowed to update. I really need that header or I will be wasting a month of work, and I can't afford a new license as a student.

I know these kind of petitions aren't very popular, but I really have no choice but asking you for help.

Please be kind. Thanks for your time

quick answer..
The header alone won't help....
others can explain the 'details' , but you do need an upgrade to the compiler

Well, based on your earlier comment you know it is in version .121 and
later. Having the header file will not help. You must have a version that
internally supports the chip. I know it was supported as of version 4.114.
