How to debug with Pickit 3 ?

Hi everyone !!!

I can't debug with the Pickit3, what are the steps to do it, do I need special configuration??

When I try to debug it I get this error:
Code:
The target device is not ready for debugging. Please check your configuration bit settings and program the device before proceeding.


I'm using: MplabX 7.02, CCS 4.120 compiler, PIC 18f4550, PICKIT 3

please help...

Download the PICkit 3 Programmer/Debugger User's Guide:
http://ww1.microchip.com/downloads/en/DeviceDoc/51795B.pdf
Put it on your Windows desktop.

Then go to page 43 and read this section:
