CCS Compiler & PICKit 2
PostPosted: Sun Jun 26, 2011 8:58 am     Reply with quote

Is anyone successfully using a PICKit programmer and the CCS compiler together? I've followed the directions in the post below and am receiving the error, "Device file PK2DeviceFile.dat not found. Must be in same directory as executable". When I check the directory with the executable, the .dat file is present. I restarted the computer just in case that might have fixed the problem, but it did not. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Normally what you would do (and I have a PICkit2) is use the PICkit2 in MPLAB which CCS PIC-C interoperates with.

There USED to be a programming tool to run from Windows directly without MPLAB that would load up .HEX files and use the PICkit (#1) to program the MCU... but after the PICkit was integrated into MPLAB, I stopped using it.

Hope that helps.

Cheers,

-Ben

I do - I just use the "Auto Import Hex + Write Device" function though.

If you look in the main PICKit2 window it's written on a button in the bottom right hand side.
