Help with cd4014 shift register.
PostPosted: Wed Jun 15, 2011 11:25 am     Reply with quote

Can someone please tell me the correct sequence to parallel load the 4014 shift register and shift the data out the serial output. I have set the PS pin high and supplied a clock, but no data appears on the Q8 output.
Thanks in advance..

Obviously not a PIC C compiler related question but to answer it, please check the datasheet for the chip. Even my old CMOS databook has concise, easy to understand information on how to use the 4014
You don't say what else is connected to it. Dip switches, other CMOS devices, perhaps a PIC ? Voltage levels ? 5, 10 12 ??? Clock type and speed ?
