USB Host question |

I'm looking at a project that will need a PIC to act as a Host to a USB printer. I will be connected wirelessly and would like a little direciton with the USB section.
I've never played with USB before and I've searched the forum and see that the VNC1L might be a good choice for a USB Host chip. I've searched Vinculum's and FTDI's sites for various resources. I would like to ask if many(any) people here have experience working with this part. I know the VNC1L comes unprogrammed and there are several firmware versions available. I am wondering if it's advisable, or possible, to write my own custom firmware(or even if a C compiler is available for it) so I can utilize the capabilities of the VNC1L instead of needing a PIC to interface between it and my wireless module.
Any advice in which direction to look?
Many thanks!
Ronald

Hi ,
i asked CCS few months ago , about drivers in pscwhd for OTG and USB Host, they answer me that they are working on, and write those drivers , and they will be soon available !
I'm always waiting for !!
what about those drivers today ?
perhaps we can try to convert microchip code to adapt it for ccs compiler, it will be a hard work !!
