Nokia 1100 LCD PCF8814
PostPosted: Mon Jul 12, 2010 8:27 am     Reply with quote

Hello all,

I am coping with Nokia 1100 lcd, which has PCF8814 chipset.

I found useful info on this web site
http://sunbizhosting.com/~spiral/

However I try convert C code (it is written for Hi-Tech) but still I couldn't make it work.

I'll post here what I did soon.

Do you have any info about this?

Thanks
logical

Hey Baybars,

You know the Nokia Lcd's ain't the best, I used to use 3310 Lcd's but found others to be far better.
Have a look at the link below, provides Schematic and Source code in C which may be very helpful to you.

Actually, I find the 3310 monochrome and the 6610 colour LCD very good. They're pretty to interface, and are as cheap as it gets. The 3310 is an 84*48 LCD, and costs only INR120 ~ USD2.5 in India. That's way cheaper than a 'proper' 128*64 graphical LCD. The only thing difficult about the Nokia LCDs is the tiny soldering you need to do to connect wires to the pins.

Totally agree on that, what I meant about better was going for Colour rather than the plain Mono, as far as prices goes, for a Small Mono Screen, they are good in that respect :o)

hmm after several unsuccessful attempts, I turn back to 3310 LCD.

I was worrying about 3310 LCD stocks, but now I get in touch some firms in china. So they still have in stock.

I prefer monochrome because project will work with battery, low power consumption necessary.

Thanks boys.
