Multi Instance support in CCS

Hi everybody,
I am Prasanna & I am trying to make 2 or more instances to run parallely in CCS (windows OS). I know that in Linux we can do this multi instance support. But I am struggling to achieve multi instance support in windows using ccs.

When you are in Linux, or Windows, you are running inside an _Operating System (OS)_, which can perform the operation of 'demand', or 'time-slicing' between functions.

CCS, is a compiler, _not_ an OS.

You have to have code for the OS to provide such an ability. Either writing it yourself (state machines driven by a timer), or adding similar code to your project.

There is code for a minimal OS, to allow timeslice operation, supplied with the compiler. Look at the EX_RTOS_xxxxxxxx files for this.

He might just want to have two instances of the PCWH Windows IDE
running at the same time.

Good point.
He says 'in CCS', not 'of CCS', but this could easily be what he wants.
I think like me, you avoid the CCS IDE as much as possible, using MPLAB or similar instead.

If he wants two instances of the IDE at once, just copy the PCW.EXE, and rename the second copy, to (say) PCW2.EXE. You can then launch both at once. Alternatively, have another copy in a separate directory.
