Is latest PCWHD V4.104 still buggy?

Hi, I have PCWH V3.249 and been using it for a few years on PIC16F and 18F devices. I’m contemplating buying PCWHD to be used on PIC24 devices because it has a bigger flash memory (max 256KB) for new projects.

Also, the mcu needs to have at least 2x UARTs, 2x I2Cs and 2x SPI’s. Also, may need to drive a TFT graphics LCD.

Can someone update me whether the latest PCWHD is still buggy or not? Thank you.

I’m tempted to buy Keil C compiler on STM32F103RET (32-bit ARM Cortex M3) which has 512KB of flash and a built-in LCD controller to directly drive a TFT graphics LCD.

I'd go with the ARM.

Rowley crossworks is very good.

Check the graphics LCD though.

The ST part still requires the LCD device to have its own controller.

Look at the NXP LPC2478 if its a "dumb" LCD.

Hi, Thank you for your comments. I didn't know Rowley provide C compilers and tools for ARM devices. They are not listed in the ST website. One thing I notice is that they don't provide a user forum for users to exchange information. I'll have a look.

Yes, ARM is a good choice. I'll check whether the LCD has a built-in controller.

So far no one has commented on the PCWHD for the PIC24 devices. I guess the users who are using it must like it?

You'll find many comments on PCD in the forum, if you look for.

PCD is improving, but it has still some bugs. I've learned to handle them and get my projects done.
