I have free pins on demo board but my problem is wiring keypad to demo board. Can I connect my keypad on the way that is presented on the schematics ? 5V to 5V and other keypad pins directly to chip pins ?

Post a list of your proposed connections between the keypad pins and
the PIC pins.

On my prototype I will have whole PORTG and PORTC "free".
Regarding the explorer demo board I would like to use the same ports ( G and C ). RC12 - 15 and G 1 - 4.
Can I solder it on this way ?

Hi guys !
I finally get the working keypad and I connected it to demo board.
What I want to learn is how to use ICD2 debugger to see if the keypads are registered. This is just for me to learn...
I know I have to set breakpoints but I don't know how to "watch" if the key was pressed or not.
I just want to understand how to use debugger for such cases.
I removed the resistors from the keypad and connected the keypad pins directly to picmicro. Because i use pic24fjxxx i need to know how what drop down values should i set for "watching".
I cant use CCP_1.
