How do I hook up my existing copy of CCS with MPLAB?
PostPosted: Fri Aug 14, 2009 12:53 am     Reply with quote

I already had CCS installed, and after I installed MPLAB, MPLAB did not seem to locate my CCS.

After that I reinstalled MPLAB with the option to install the PCB version of CCS and then I changed the path of the CCS compiler to point to my current installation,

Is this the normal way of making MPLAB "see" CCS?

I also want to know how to uninstall this new PCB version of CCS once I have linked my preinstalled CCS with MPLAB.

I just went through this on a Win2000 system. Try running the CCS
"Plug in" program. That might be sufficient (or it might not).

To uninstall the free PCB included with MPLAB, just go to Control Panel,
select Modify for the MPLAB entry. Then in the MPLAB installer, it has
an option to remove selected components.

PCM,

I use Windows 2000 as well. It worked like a charm. Just maybe cause our OS are the same?

I will try it out on my laptop that has Vista and come back in case of any issues.
