PIC18F1320 Coding to measure power factor
PostPosted: Fri Jul 17, 2009 11:54 am     Reply with quote

I am going to design a microcontroller based AC Power meter.
Now I am able to measure and display the voltage and current by using PIC18F1320.
But I am in trouble, how to measure the power factor (determining the phase difference between the voltage and current wave).
Can anyone help me please how do that PIC18f1320 coding to determine the power factor?

Your in the UK, so it is 220V and 50Hz

Check this website

Here is a good pdf

and here is a example

Power Factor = Real Power / Apparent Power
