Hey all,

Is MODBUS a multi-master bus?

Also, do you guys know of any multi-master RS485 protocol?

I'm not aware of a MODBUS multimaster option. You can check out at http://www.modbus.org/

PROFIBUS e.g. is using token passing for media access control, it also allows for multi-master operation.
