Just a few general questions about migrating a project from the PIC18 PCH compiler to the PIC24 PCD compiler.
1. Choosing a 24 series chip that runs '40MIPS' will generally run my 18F code 4x faster that the 18F2550 chip I am using now?
2. Is the CCS MachX able to program the 24 series ICs in the ZIF socket, and ICSP?
3. Is the PCD compiler ready for prime time yet? I still see many complaints about it still being in the beta stage
4. None of the 16-bit PICs have pre-emptive processing available, correct?
Thanks in advance

Anyone?
Maybe just an answer to #1 if nothing else?
Thanks

Hi,
Depending on the algorithm you will get much faster results. A PIC32 running at 80mhz run 28 times faster than a pic18 at 40mhz on one of my project.
