Does 16F628A work with ICD-U40?

CCS's standalone program

CCS has a Standalone program for the ICD-U40...do you mean that .exe ICD Interface Programming...I need this pic (16F628A) only for programming and i'm not getting how it works! I have kit150 too!

If you only want to program the PIC, then you don't need the ICD header.
You can use the ICD-U40 as a programmer with the CCSLOAD program:

Also, the ICD-U40 can only be used for debugging if you have the
CCS IDE compiler, such as PCW, PCWH, etc. ICD-U40 will not debug
with MPLAB, and it won't debug with the CCSLOAD program.
