Proteus VSM with ENC28J60
PostPosted: Fri Nov 09, 2007 10:52 pm     Reply with quote

Hi.. I am very new to Microchip ENC28J60 ethernet chip.

I have installed the CCS TCP/IP Example.

However, I don't have the CCS Embedded Ethernet Prototyping Board.
But what I have is Proteus 7.2 SP2. It has ENC28J60 library and is able to simulate it. So, only way for me to learn is to try to simulate it in Proteus VSM.

Inside the Examples, I found "ex_st_webserver.HEX". Is it possible for me to use that hex file and simulate it with PIC18F4620..?
If yes, how do I connect the components..? Is there any schematic that I can follow..?

BTW, i didn't change the original ex_st_webserver.HEX file.

Thanks in advance..

Hi,
I think I am over late to reply this post but I wish to share with somebody who also doing this using Proteus:

To use Proteus to simulate TCP IP:
1. Configure the code given in CCS examples to fulfill the hardware design of ur board.
2. Install wincap to view the output from the simulation.
3. Install VMware workstation to create virtual local network (good for troubleshooting and tracing whether ur simulation works or not?)
4. Install wireshark to view the network activity.
5. Make sure the clock speed are fulfill with ur hardware.
6. Configure enc28j60 to use the appropriate network settings (refer to help file in Proteus).
