extended Memory for 18F8722
PostPosted: Mon Nov 03, 2008 9:49 am     Reply with quote

Hello,
I am trying to implement a project where I want to use the extended memory mode of the PIC18F8722. I am also using a bootloader for this project, which is the CCS ex_bootloader.c program. I have success using the bootloader and the pic if it is not in extended mode. I currently have a program that is larger than the memory of the 18F8722 and I have created a new device that has memory of the 8722 and the external memory I have added. (I am using the CCS 8722 proto board). If I bootload a program that is less than the 8722 memory it goes into the chip and works fine. If I bootload a program that is larger than the 8722 memory it goes in but does not run. I am trying to find examples on using extended memory to see what i need to do. Can anyone point me in the direction of topics discuss on this forum. I have searched and found bits and pieces, but I have not found what I am looking for.
Thanks
PCM programmer

Search for "External Memory", not extended memory.
Then search the titles on each page of results for "External".
