CompactFlash to UART Interface
PostPosted: Tue Oct 07, 2008 11:55 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I need to make a CompactFlash product for windows CE & Mobile, Plug & Play COM Port. For this I search for some chip to make this interface with my PIC by UART.

Somebody know how to make this or which chip I can use?

thank you very much!!

Hi,

I don't think such a device exists as far as I know. You would need to interface to the compact flash parallel interface directly using a PIC with loads of pins, you could then write a fairly complex piece of software to do the translation. MMC/SD is easier to interface than compactflash, you could try that...

Hi,

The point is that we need that windows Mobile detect a COM port when I insert this hardware. I see the chip VPU16550 from Elan, but I want to know if exists other or if somebody develop a similar project.

Thank you very much!

Best Regards,
