Anybody knows why CCS stopped answering?
I sent a question about the Document Generator 10 days ago and even sent a reminder a few days later an nothin' doin'.
Or is it my yearly payment for support that they don't need... Rolling Eyes

Hi meereck
I received an identification number from CCS and a note that my email was assigned to someone in tech support. That was the end of it.

Well, I will keep waiting and hope that everything is OK...

I wonder why this heading is not causing any of the mavens to reply and save CCS's honor. Not that they have to.
PCM Programmer? Ttelmah? ckielstra? anyone out there?
Is CCS still out there?
Maybe I will try to purchase something from them and see if they are willing to take my money... Wink

They probably have no extra man-hours to assign to fixing a problem
with (what they consider to be) a minor part of the compiler. They
probably bought the Documentation Generator as a pre-packaged
drop-in module to add features to the new vs. 4 release. It may not
work correctly. They would have to get a better version from whoever
they bought it from. My advice is to forget about it, use the core
compiler, and move on.

We don't work for CCS. They are few thousand miles away from me.
The "mavens" as you call us, don't control anything at CCS.

Hi PCM Programmer,
I know you don't work for CCS. I just wanted to create enough noise to get smebody to reply. Sorry.
Do you know of a product (for money, there usually ain't such a thing as a free lunch) that can do a good job of documenting a set of C files? The one provided by CCS does a lousy job.

I had a few problems with the Doc Gen stuff at one point and it took quite a
while for them to get to it. For a long time (read that as a LOT of versions),
I could not use the source formatter in PCWH because it hung about mid
way through my code each time. After almost a year they did get it fixed
and it works with no problems for me now. When they did get on it they got
it fixed in a matter of days. As PCM said, the docs area is likely an add on
and (understandably) pretty low on their priority list. If you keep pinging
them every so often they will get to it.

thanks for the advice dyeatman, I will do just that.
I find the document generator concept to be of huge help in providing my customers with impressive documentation , but right now I need to work very hard to get something out of the one provided by CCS.
Thanks PCM programmer, I will look at the comparison.

Best regards
Noam
