Question about SPI_SS_DISABLED
PostPosted: Thu Sep 04, 2008 7:27 am     Reply with quote

Hi everybody !

I have some question about SPI...

When I'm using SPI communication between two 16F877, can I use the pin A5 from MASTER for I\O ? This pin on SLAVE is the SPI_SS Enable line, but in MASTER device is not necessary, correct ? The constant SPI_SS_DISABLED have effect on MASTER device??

Thanks

No, the SPI_SS_DISABLED only applies to slave devices. There is no automatic SS function in master mode. You can define any I/O pin you want as the SS output from the master. It does not have to be pin A5.
