I don't know if this will work everywhere, but if you go to the following website (place a . where the word "dot" is):
masters"dot"microchipdirect"dot"com you can get some significant discounts on all Microchip development tools (including CCS compilers for 50% off). You have to purchase by noon July 26th I think.

I'm on the website from my hotel room at the Microchip Masters Conference, so I can't guarantee this works everywhere.

PCWHD Compiler for $300 (normally $600).
