Help with KBD

Hey all! I have something here with a keypad and it is working fine. But I have to make some modifications in order to improve what's already done and make it more functional.
I would like to know if there's anyway for me to know when a key is pressed during the execution of my code without having to call the "kbd_getc()" function everytime.
