MPLAB ICD2

Does anyone know how to get the MPLAB ICD2 unit to work with the CCS IDE as a programmer only (not in debug mode)

I'd rather not have to keep switching to MPLAB every time I want to download a program, and I can't get the IDE to download a program that will work without the debugger plugged in.
