TCP/IP stack CCS vs. Microchip
PostPosted: Sat Jun 28, 2008 6:44 am     Reply with quote

I need your advice guys,
I am about to begin a development of an embedded web enabled device. I have used CCS for many years, but chosing a TCP/IP stack makes me unsure.
If I got it right the CCS stack is a port of Microchip TCP/IP stack version 3.75. They (at Microchip) are already at version 4.5 now, with a readme file about literally hundreds of bug fixes / new functionality introduced since 3.75 which was 2 years ago. (this is quite a long time in electronics)

Could anyone give me a clue if I am really going to miss those things and should go for the 4.5 stack, and try to port it myself... (btw. anybody has done this already ? if not, why not) or the ported 3.75 is perfectly enough ? (I am just worried about those hundreds of bugs discovered since then)
