Weird U64 / PCWHD behaviour, debugging impossible
PostPosted: Mon Sep 30, 2013 1:56 am     Reply with quote

PCWHD Compiler/IDE version 4.125
ICD-U64 Rev 2 with firmware 2.99
PIC18F67K22 on known well functioning board

When I click on "Build" in the IDE, the project builds.

Once the project has finished building the status bar at the bottom of the debugger window goes through the Attaching, Loading, Busy status but
then the system stays about 10 seconds on "busy" and reports an Err that the system could not be halted or reset or the clock is wrong.

The Board used is well functioning with same equipment, three different U64 debugger shows the same result.
Testing the U64s with CCSLOAD shows all ok, DVM Pin test is also ok, and the board is normally programmable.

Just the debugging is not possible with PCWHD.

If i revert to an older CCSLOAD (V4.037) which i installed from an old CD,
all works normally, also debugging is full functioning.
If i try to update to the newest CCSLOAD version 4.047 same strange behaviour is shown as before.

This behaviour is repeatable.

Seems that CCSLOAD 4.047 or the USB-Driver has a Bug.

Any Ideas?

Same problem. Can program a part, but can't debug. The problem exists on both my version 2 and version 3 ICD U64. It started after I ran software updates of USB driver and ccsload. My target is 18F26k22, but I moved over to a CCS embedded ethernet development board with the same results.
