audio recorder

Hi!

I want to make an audio recorder for recording at least cd quality 16 bit 44100.
I can playback the recorded wav with a DSpic's audio DAC.
The data will be stored in a hard disk drive. All the above is already ready, the only thing missing is a good quality, low noise 16 bit audio ADC chip
with parallel output preferably. Serial can also work.
I do not want to use Microchip's speex or adpcm etc. Just pure, raw 16bit wav.
Any suggestion of ADC chip, appreciated.
... I also have a crazy idea around my mind, of interfacing an old ISA PC sound card or even directly on a sound card's chip. Any ideas???

George.

Interfacing a PIC to an ISA card is easy..did that years ago to get mass storage (hard drive) before cheap SSDs came out. Tons of info 'on the WEB' about making low level drivers ,wiring,etc..just have to seek and find.
