18F67J60 programming problem
PostPosted: Sun Feb 14, 2010 2:53 pm     Reply with quote

Hi,

I use ICD-40 for programming 18F67J60 but unfortunately I am not successful.
CCS Device programmer gives an error like wrong device id. Read id code is : 1FC0 and Expected code is : 1F20.

I've checked my circuit many times but I don't have so much components and I can't see any problem.
What can be problem ?? Please help me!!

Rbias has a very specific function related to ethernet operation.

Did you read the datasheet?

Today i read the datasheet and rbias is not a key for icd. I read all datasheet but still i can't find the solution.
I have circuit that only remains mcu - crystal with capacitors - 10Kohm for mclr and 3.3v on circuit. Is there anymore need in circuit ?

No, RBIAS is part of the ethernet module's requirements for operation.

You shouldn't even need a crystal w/capacitors.

I normally use the ICD3 from MCHP.

It can be hooked up with 5 connections:

Vdd
Vss
MCLR (via direct connections)
PGC
PGD

If you are still having problems, you should consider contacting CCS. Perhaps you have a bad device, bad programmer or some bum file elsewhere in the CCS toolsuite.
