Help for PIC18F64J90 segment LCD flicker problem
PostPosted: Sat Mar 08, 2008 1:29 am     Reply with quote

Dear all:
We built up an PCBA with PIC18F64J90 MCU, drive 88 pixels segment LCD. Use MUX14, 1/3 bias, resistor ladder(M3 mode). The resistor value is 300k Ohm for each, we try to change it to 100k Ohm, but nothing happen.
We do not use the build-in capacitor pump and use the built-in regulator capacitor is 4.7uF.
The LCD size is about 40*20mm.
The contents display on the LCD is: hour: time(in Arabic numerals format), battery capacity(in symbol), perfume bottle volume(in symbol), and other characters.
The function is good, but from the side, we can see the LCD blink very quickly, especially for the big size characters and symbols.
We do not know what is the problem, if someone give us some advice will be great appreciate.
Thank you!

The wave form on RD1/SEG1, RD2/SEG2, RD3/SEG3, RD4/SEG4, RB4/SEG11, RC6/SEG27 is not stable, seems two driving signal mix togerter.
Another question, I hope to place a image here to show the problem, but I fail to do that. Could somebody help to figure out how to do that?
