Connecting Two PIC 16F877A
PostPosted: Thu Nov 25, 2010 7:59 am     Reply with quote

Hi
Basically I'm working for a project. So I'm using two PIC 16f877A which one for transmitter and another one for receiver. The problem is how could I send binary data through the transmitter and receive by the receiver? I'm using CCS C COMPILER?
Thanks. Hope members can help...

That's easy. Use the UART. You have the CCS manual, read the RS232 examples.

All data is binary.

What I think you're really asking is for a protocol to send data longer than 1 byte to the other device.

The questions you need to consider first are:
How much data?
How fast does it need to be sent?
Do you need error checking?

The more you ask for, the more complex the program will become. So start very simple and build a solid foundation.

It could be as simple as using MAX232 chips and the uarts.
Have one device send something to tell the other device to send data.
then the other device sends 100 bytes (or whatever) of data, then waits for another request.
