Export and Import of EEPROM data using ICD-U40

I need to do the following:
1. Export data (calibration values, SN, etc...) from the on board EEPROM to a file on a PC.
2. Bulk erase and load new code.
3. Import previously stored EEPROM data.

This can be done with MPLAB and a ProMate III. Can it be done with an ICD-U40 or perhaps a MACH-X?

I'm familar with the erase settings such as Erase When Needed. I just rolled back to 3.236 from 3.245 and didn't catch that the programmer was reset to Bulk Erase. I need something a bit more fool (like me) proof.
