MPLAB says "xxxxx.hex file cannot be read, extension no
PostPosted: Fri Feb 17, 2006 12:48 pm     Reply with quote

hi all
Recently my MPLAB IDE v6.60 will not load any *.hex files.

"the format of the file xxxx.hex cannot be read or written because its extension is not recognized>

I can load *.cof files and program them just fine.

Can anyone steer me to where I have done something wrong?

THanks!

Cool

Here is how to find information on MPLAB problems:

1. Go to the Microchip forum and look at the FAQ page:
http://forum.microchip.com/tm.aspx?m=45142

2. On that page, click on the link for: "How can I resolve the
"file cannot be read/written because extension not recognized" error? "

If that doesn't help, then you can go to their search page:
http://forum.microchip.com/search.aspx
Then type in: file extension not recognized
Search in forum: MPLAB IDE
You will get 36 hits.
