Does anyone have an example diagram with a pic and an icsp header ?
I'm confused. I have a 47k pullup from 5V but when I plug in to program isnt VDD seeing 13V as well (albeit through the resistor). I thought the max voltage for that was 7.5V ?
Is the 47k so high that any current coming through is so small it doesnt effect the pic ?

That's right. The 13v has a 47K output impedance (in effect) going
to the PIC's Vdd pin. But the +5v regulator has an output impedance of
well under 1 ohm. The +5v supply wins.

I see.
I guess I did not understand that one would "win" over the other. That makes sense now. Thank You.
