There are many tutorials on the net, for setting up CCS
with MPLAB. A quick search with google found these two.
They are complete with screen shots.

With respect to 6.1, I don't use it, but that question is
asked about once a week on here. Do a quick search of the
board.

I have no problem setting up CCS and MPlab IDE, I was able to complie the code and have the hex file. Now I like to program my chip using picstart plus. PC detect the picstartplus, I don't know how to export the hex file and then burn it into the chip.

If you have setup the MPLAB IDE and CCS compiler and are compiling in the IDE, then it is as simple as choosing the PICSTART as your programmer in the IDE and then choosing to program the device. If you are not compiling from within the IDE then you must choose the import to memory from the file menu and then choose to program.

Mark
