Bootloader issues dsPIC33CH
PostPosted: Fri May 06, 2022 3:29 am     Reply with quote

Hi,

I am trying to use the bootloader in a dsPIC33CH. My goal is to eventually update firmware of the MCU remotely.
For now I am testing with the bootloader, but I can't get it working. Does someone have an example to update firmware multiple times using the bootloader with for example UART communication?

Before you start trying to use the bootloader, you need to make sure
you have got a working serial port.
Then remember that NOIOL1WAY must be selected.
Obviously you _are_ using the PCD bootloader.
ccsbootloader.exe with the compiler will send a hex file to a PC serial
in the correct format for the bootloader.
It is not hard, just basically transmitting the hex file to the unit, but it
is critical that handshaking is used and works. The transfer has to stop
while each line is programmed.
