Can't program PIC18F25Q43 with ICD-U64
PostPosted: Thu Oct 29, 2020 9:24 am     Reply with quote

I use PIC18F25Q43 in the first time.
I put the same programming PINs connecting with ICD-U64 just like other PICs that I used before (MCLR/VPP, VDD, VSS, ICSPDAT, ICSPCLK).
But the programmer can't get target ID.

Any idea?

First thing, make sure you have the latest firmware in the ICD-U64. This is
a relatively 'new' chip. Then is the board powered?. (the ICD can power
the chip, but very little else). What is actually connected to MCLR?.

According to:
<http://www.ccsinfo.com/devices.php?page=icddevices>

The device is supported.

Is any ID read?. If not, look at the power.

Thank you. Updating the firmware of ICD-U64 resolved the problem.

We have several products that are using PIC MCUs. After this update, I tried to program PIC18F66K22, PIC18F4580, PIC16F76, they are all okay. But I can't program PIC16F819, while it can be programmed by Microchip PM3.

Any idea why not PIC16F819 can be programmed?
