Does PCD support the built-in crypto engine of PIC24?
PostPosted: Mon Oct 23, 2017 12:15 pm     Reply with quote

Hi:

I was wondering if CCS supports the use of the built-in crypto engine in PIC24 devices, for example the PIC24FJ128GB204 family, which handles AES and 3DES algorithms in several modes of operation. I searched through the help files of the compiler, but i found no mention of any function related to the use of cryptography in hardware.

Has anyone managed to access this hardware module in CCS? If so, could you give me some pointers on how to use it, as i couldn't find much info in this regard.

Thanks in advance!

Best regards,
Fernando

It isn't mentioned in the PCD manual, and the PIC header file only mentions
Quote:
#define INT_CRYPT_DONE 254
#define INT_CRYPT_PROGRAM_DONE 255
#define INT_CRYPT_BUFFER_READY 256
#define INT_CRYPT_ROLLOVER 257

No examples either.
Before you dive into the registers yourself try asking CCS support. They may even be working on it at the moment.
Unfortunately I don't have experience with the module.
