CCS C Compiler IDE Crashing Constantly in Windows
PostPosted: Thu Feb 05, 2015 6:45 pm     Reply with quote

I bought the PCWHD compiler and IDE and after a recent upgrade, the IDE crashes in Windows 7 about every 5 minutes. I can't keep it running long enough to do any changes to my code and it is an extreme pain in the [spam]. Is this a common problem? What information would someone need from me to help resolve this. It crashes and just says:

C Compiler IDE has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.

I've restarted and reinstalled the IDE, and rebooted the computer.

Thanks

I run PCWHD latest versions on three different machines (two desktops and a laptop) all running Windows 7 with no problems at all.
Sounds like a Windows security issue. Did you install it as Administrator?

What processor?.

Funnily enough, I have seen this a couple of times recently, but only with one specific processor. A 33FJ16MC102. Hasn't done it once with any other processor, and even on this one, only does it when I use one particular function. I changed my code to avoid this, and since it has been fine.
